Once among the most influential voter outreach groups in the nation, the New Georgia Project is closing its doors for good.  Founded by Stacey Abrams in 2013, the organization sprang into action, registering tens of thousands of left-leaning voters and turning Georgia into a battleground state that eventually elected two Democratic U.S. Senators.  But the group has struggled in recent years, particularly in Abrams’ absence, laying off employees and becoming the subject of campaign finance investigations, and now is shuttering for good.  SINKING…
