When a 3-year-old North Atlantic right whale known as “Division” was found tangled in fishing nets off the coast of Jekyll Island earlier this month, members of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (along with some of their Floridian counterparts) sprung into action. During a multi-day effort they actually had to climb onto the whale’s body to cut off the netting, finally freeing the highly endangered creature. Only about 380 right whales, which give birth off the Georgia coast, are estimated to remain, so Georgia DNR officials saving a young male has its future RISING…
