Lt. Gov. Burt Jones and Senate Majority Whip Randy Robertson, R-Cataula, are urging Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to attend the Georgia Senate Ethics Committee meeting on Thursday to answer for “repeated failures in protecting the integrity of Georgia’s elections,” and to produce Georgia’s voter registration list for the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

“Fulton County has now admitted to the State Election Board that 315,000 ballots were not properly signed by poll workers and then were wrongly certified. The Secretary of State must answer for this latest breakdown, and his silence is unacceptable,” said Jones. “I call on the Secretary to appear before the Georgia Senate Ethics Committee to testify on how and why state regulations were not followed, why he then certified the election, and what he is personally doing to ensure failures like this never happen again. As Lt. Governor, I will continue to lead the Senate’s efforts to protect the integrity of Georgia’s elections and provide much needed oversight of those who run them. I will not allow the Secretary and his allies in the press to let him escape accountability by downplaying this utter failure as a mere ‘clerical error.’”
