This writer first reported in 2015 on appalling conditions and crime at a refugee condominium complex known as Brannon Hill in DeKalb County near Clarkston. While some praise the Clarkston area as a triumph for Third World refugee resettlement, this writer (along with a Fox5Atlanta TV reporter and policeman) toured the place that year to witness a Third World nightmare.
Eleven years later, little has changed except for an effort a while ago to demolish some unsafe condos. Just the other day police responded to the complex to find that two people had been murdered. Just another sad chapter of continuing crime.
When I first visited the semi-burned-out condominium complex controlled by a Somali refugee gang (this was confirmed by the police and residents we interviewed), the poor Somali squatters and residents on welfare lived in squalor and police were rarely seen. Garbage and debris were everywhere and fires had regularly broken out over the years.
