Only days after Speaker Jon Burns, R-Newington, and Rep. Chris Erwin, R-Homer, introduced the Georgia Early Literacy Act, a House Education subcommittee gave unanimous approval to the bill – sending it to the full House Education Committee for consideration later this week. The bill, which Erwin calls the “most meaningful and significant education legislation the Georgia General Assembly has championed since the HOPE Scholarship in 1992” could be heard on the House floor as early as next week.
