Construction at Rowen, the ambitious Gwinnett County life sciences campus, has only just gotten underway – but it’s already landed a (very) big fish. Belgium-based UCB Inc., a biopharmaceutical company that makes medicines for people with neurological and autoimmune conditions, has announced a massive, $2 billion manufacturing facility that will anchor Rowen’s 2,000-acre campus. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop.
