Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper has announced the opening of the Georgia Grown Resource Center in Albany. The center is part of a new partnership between the Department of Agriculture and the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission. As the largest city in Southwest Georgia, the Albany center can serve as a hub for the region’s numerous agricultural producers and businesses across the region. The center will be available to provide tools, resources and connections to help them grow, as well as market their products.
“The new Georgia Grown Resource Center in Albany reflects our commitment to investing in and strengthening Georgia’s #1 industry and supporting the farm families who fuel it success,” said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper. “By bringing resources directly to Southwest Georgia, we’re giving agricultural businesses the tools they need to grow, compete, and succeed. We’re glad to be opening new doors of opportunity for Georgia’s ag community as we continue to expand these centers across the state.”
