One of the most important figures in media in modern history – Ted Turner passed away on Wednesday. Turner revolutionized cable news when he founded CNN in 1980, and expanded his media holdings with the “Superstation” WTBS, professional wrestling’s WCW, and under his watch the Atlanta Braves became one of the biggest brands in American sports. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop.
