It seems the news never stops when it comes to money and politics. Consider this headline Bloomberg News published: GOP Nears $1 Billion Midterms War Chest, More Than Triple Democrats’ Cash. At a time when much of the mainstream media claims the political winds are favoring the Democrats and their increasingly left-wing field of candidates, they are not doing well in the fundraising category and also not so well when it comes to GOP targeting congressional district reapportionment in several key states.

Based on the most Federal Election Commission filings, the article says that “Republicans and allies have raised an historic $939 million ahead of the November midterms, more than triple Democrats’ $267 million haul.” The funding gap, Bloomberg bluntly notes, “gives Republicans a major advertising advantage” in the midterm congressional elections. In Georgia, that means a lot of money can be directed to counter the Democrats who recently turned out more statewide voters on May 19th primary night than Republicans.
