This past Friday the U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon filed a motion demanding the recusal of Atlanta-based U.S. 11th Circuit District Judge Eleanor Ross from a key election-related case after she admitted to attending a partisan fundraiser for Democrat Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Dhillon charges that Ross’ attendance makes clear she isn't impartial, and points out it violates ethical legal canons.
Does the name Ross sound familiar? It should. Just last week news broke that this federal judge disgraced her life-time tenure as a jurist by admitting to having extramarital sexual relations with an Atlanta deputy police commander in her chambers during work hours— all overheard by staff members. Ross also admitted to initially lying about it, and she retaliated against whistleblower witnesses.
