Columbus’ National Infantry Museum recently hosted the Infantry Ball, honoring 250 years of military service and sacrifice. Hundreds of active soldiers, veterans and supporters gathered for the annual event, sponsored by the National Infantry Association. This year’s version was especially noteworthy, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary and retelling the history of the infantry and how it’s shaped America for two-and-a-half centuries. BG (Ret) Larry Burris, CEO of the National Infantry Association, said the event offers more than celebration. “It’s good to get back to this and show young folks that you can have a good time outside of work in the Army even with your comrades and your friends.”
