In the now years or decades-long (depending on how you count) quest to designate the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park as a National Park, the Macon-area Congressmen Sanford Bishop (D- GA 2) and Austin Scott (R- GA 8), testified before the U.S. House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Federal Lands. Bishop and Scott were there to boost their bill, House Resolution 9416, the Ocmulgee Mounds National Park Redesignation Act.
