Midtown Alliance, the planning and chamber-esque nonprofit organization dedicated to improving Midtown Atlanta, has released their data from quarters one and two in 2026 and the results are good. Driven by strong and sustained growth with new residents, the average people present number per day in those quarters exceeded the pre-pandemic benchmark. Finally. The results hammer home the gargantuan impact of Covid-19 and what it did to our cities, offices and other businesses. Visitation plummeted, delivery skyrocketed and its now taken nearly seven years to get back to where we were as a society on the move.
“These latest numbers give encouraging signs that Midtown's evolution as a mixed-use destination continues to build more resiliency on many levels, from economic diversification to quality of life,” said Midtown Alliance. “Midtown is still reaping the benefits from a sizzling development cycle that introduced thousands of new square feet of space for commerce, culture and living in recent years.”
