Clyde weighs in on semi-automatic rifle case

Georgia’s U.S. Republican Rep. Andrew Clyde is leading a large coalition of House Republicans in an amicus brief that urges the Supreme Court of the United States to rule that bans on the AR-15 and similar rifles are unconstitutional. Clyde filed the brief in the case Viramontes v. Cook County (consolidated with Grant v. Higgins) – which he calls “a major Second Amendment case” addressing the constitutionality of semi-automatic rifles.

More than 60 House Republicans joined Clyde on the brief, including Republican members of the Georgia delegation Reps. Mike Collins, Brian Jack, and Rich McCormick.
