Flock license plate readers have been embraced by law enforcement across Georgia, but have been met with backlash from the public as audits have revealed hundreds of cases of misuse, leading to firings or even criminal charges.

The Atlanta Police Department hasn't been immune from those scandals, with an audit flagging 79 questionable searches for further investigation.  Now, to be fair, that's 79 out of 115,578 Flock search inquiries conducted by APD so far this year, for a whopping 0.07% of the total, but nonetheless represents a serious privacy concern and potential civil rights issue.
