Gov. Brian Kemp, appearing at the Atlanta chapter of the Federalist Society, confirmed that he’ll attend a Thursday fundraiser in an Atlanta private home for Republican U.S. Senate candidate and Congressman Mike Collins. Joining the governor is U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune. (The Thune-aligned Senate Leadership Committee PAC has committed $45 million to Collins and is running and buying future media ads.) Georgia lawmakers back the Braves
As the Atlanta Braves continue their playoff battle with the LA Dodgers, a group of Georgia lawmakers are backing them in a battle of their own. U.S. Reps. Brian Jack and Lucy McBath, along with U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, have introduced legislation to extend a provision in the 2021 American Rescue Plan that would allow publicly traded organizations – like the Braves – to treat some of their high-salaried players like executives as a normal business would.
