State Senator Judson Hill announced this week that he would be forming a Senate sub-committee to study tax reform in the state of Georgia.
The committee, which aims to get feedback from legislators, policy experts, and constituents, will hold several meetings across the state, the first of which coming on Friday the 24th at 10:00 am in room 450 of the State Capitol.
Hill, the Chairman of the influential Finance Committee, has long sought to lower tax rates statewide. Said Hill, “Our goal is, in the most fiscally responsible way, to enable Georgians to keep more dollars in their pockets and make their own decisions on whether those dollars should be saved, invested or spent.”
While Religious Freedom may steal headlines, look for tax reform to once again be a major issue during the 2016 legislative session, with these sub-committee meetings setting the stage.
