Georgia Congressmen take aim at hurricane insurance woes

Three Georgia Congressmen – U.S. Reps. Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02), Buddy Carter (GA-01) and Rick Allen (GA-12) – have introduced legislation to amend the Hurricane Insurance Protection- Wind Index (HIP-WI) program. The Farmers’ AID Relief Act would correct a flaw in the HIP-WI program that leans more on inaccurate data systems than it does the actual damage on the ground.

Ossoff pushing bill to protect Americans’ data

U.S. Sens. Jon Ossoff, D-GA, Bill Cassidy, R-LA, and Ben Ray Luján, D-NM, are sponsoring the Data Elimination and Limiting Extensive Tracking and Exchange (DELETE) Act, legislation that would allow Americans to request that data brokers delete their personal data.

U.S. Congress Must Take Steps to Protect Dialysis Patients 

In the past legislative session, the Georgia General Assembly passed – and Gov. Brain Kemp signed – a bill I authored called the Giving the Gift of Life Act. This bill was inspired by my son Will, who desperately needed a kidney transplant after suffering from kidney failure. I was fortunate to be a donor match and jumped at the opportunity to give my son a new lease on life by giving him one of my kidneys.

Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention

The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.  Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.”  The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
