Ag commissioner calls for stronger protections for specialty crop producers

Agriculture remains the number one industry in Georgia, and the state’s Ag Commissioner Tyler Harper wants to ensure stronger protections for farmers who continue to face significant challenges. Harper announced Monday that he is calling for the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to prioritize protections for American specialty crop producers as the bilateral negotiations of the United States – Mexico – Canada Agreement (USMCA) continue.

Bishop: Funding bill fall shorts for families, farmers

U.S Rep. Sanford Bishop, D-GA, who serves as the top Democrat on the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee for Agriculture, Rural Development, Food & Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, says he voted against H.R. 8646, the subcommittee’s Fiscal Year 2027 funding bill because it falls short for Georgia families, farmers and rural communities.

Lt. governor election-related letter “false, reprehensible”

Last week a letter to GOP lieutenant governor candidate and former state Senate President Pro Tem John F. Kennedy from Cobb County attorney Drew Ashby demanded the release of confidential records regarding potential sexual harassment claims against him. Ashby wrote to Kennedy specifically requesting that he release a former state Senate staffer identified by her initials “from all secrecy obligations that they owe to you.”

WNBA embroiled in trans-athlete drama

Last Sunday a mother and daughter attended the Atlanta Dream/Indiana Fever basketball game at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. With two minutes left in overtime the pair were ordered to cover their XX-XY chromosome shirts— and the censorship incident went viral. It’s obvious that left-wing, pro-trans leaders of the Women’s National Basketball Association are intent on suppressing the message that men and women are different and that biological men cannot become women. However, widespread public support exists for these statements of fact, and by trying to censor them the WNBA is actually causing these viral moments.
