More GOP money in Georgia should mean more votes
It seems the news never stops when it comes to money and politics. Consider this headline Bloomberg News published: “GOP Nears $1 Billion Midterms War Chest, More Than Triple Democrats’ Cash.” At a time when much of the mainstream media claims the political winds are favoring the Democrats and their increasingly left-wing field of candidates, they are not doing well in the fundraising category and also not so well when it comes to GOP targeting congressional district reapportionment in several key states.
GPA’s Gainesville Inland Port now open for business
The Georgia Ports Authority’s Gainesville Inland Port is open for business with crews kicking off direct daily rail service between the inland manufacturing hub and the Port of Savannah. According to officials this gives shippers an alternative to a 600-mile roundtrip truck route that will reduce trucks on Georgia’s highways and in the Atlanta region.
Bill would allow anonymous infant surrender
Under current Georgia law, if a new mother is considering the unthinkable of giving up her baby, that mother must come face to face with a worker at a hospital, a fire station or a law enforcement facility. It is a thing that happens but every so often, a handful of cases across the country a year, that face to face meeting may be too much for a mother in ultimate crisis and that baby is left somewhere, alone.

The 2026 session of the Georgia General Assembly is underway, and the Georgia Republican Party has announced a list of “bold election integrity legislative priorities” for the year, including compliance with SB 189 which mandates the removal of QR codes, ending automatic “Motor Voter” registration and creating a statewide election court.

The Georgia Senate voted along party lines Tuesday to ban cities from requiring gun owners to lock up their guns in cars, the first bill approved in this year’s legislative session.
Special election will decide Middle Georgia Senate seat
When former Senate President Pro Tempore John Kennedy resigned his position to focus on his run for Lt. Governor, six hopefuls jumped in the race replace him in the middle Georgia district. The election is set for Jan. 20 with a runoff scheduled for Feb. 17. The winner will only serve for part of this year’s legislative session which began yesterday, Jan. 12 and will wrap up with Sine Die on April 2.
