Likely the state’s most prominent feature of the federal government, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has finally found its new director. Former Deputy Surgeon General and Rear Admiral in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Erica Schwartz was confirmed by a party line vote of 51-44, with U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-VA, being the lone Democrat senator to vote in favor.

Savannah airport gets new aviation safety training tool

The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) is getting an upgrade that officials say will increase safety, reduce delays and modernize air travel. U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-GA, announced recently that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $7.6 million to replace the current air traffic control training system at the airport. The funding is part of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2024.

WNBA embroiled in trans-athlete drama

Last Sunday a mother and daughter attended the Atlanta Dream/Indiana Fever basketball game at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. With two minutes left in overtime the pair were ordered to cover their XX-XY chromosome shirts— and the censorship incident went viral. It’s obvious that left-wing, pro-trans leaders of the Women’s National Basketball Association are intent on suppressing the message that men and women are different and that biological men cannot become women. However, widespread public support exists for these statements of fact, and by trying to censor them the WNBA is actually causing these viral moments.
