It’s ‘late’ in the primary election season, what with the vote to come earlier than is customary, on May 20. But it’s still early to see what effect on the campaigns will come from the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to lift certain restrictions on campaign contributions. Candidates are having to guess at how well their opponents are now doing in fundraising. We’ll take the optimistic perspective and hope that more money for candidates means more and better information for voters. At least that’s our story and we’re sticking with it. …DRIFTING
