Gov. Nathan Deal Tuesday gave support to increased transportation funding, without backing any specific plan.

“While many suggestions and options are on the table, I want to make clear that I support increasing funding for strategic transportation investments,” Deal said in a speech to the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs & Issues Breakfast, according to a copy of his speech.

“Details of how this will be accomplished will certainly require discussion,” Deal said, adding “I look forward to continuing that conversation tomorrow.”

Deal will give his state of the state speech to the Legislature Wednesday. In addition to details on transportation, he said he would reveal education-reform proposals.
