After voting overwhelmingly in favor of a 1% sales tax to bring MARTA to the county last November, Clayton County residents can now look forward to rail service in coming years. Bus lines began operations in March, with three routes initially in service and that number increasing up to what will be 10 by the end of 2015.
Now MARTA has begun a series of studies into how best to bring rail lines to the county, a process that is projected to take around a year and cost upwards of $700,000, money that will come out of the additional transportation sales tax.
