A little lesson in the reason behind much of the legislation debated at the Gold Dome:
Sometimes there are bills that stand out for certain reasons. The newly-passed HB 757, the Religious Liberty legislation, comes to mind. Facing pressure from social conservatives and concerned about religious freedom, legislators passed the bill to protect religious observers from doing things against their will or religious beliefs. Critics of the bill say it goes too far and a genuine uproar has ensued that will likely engulf the state for the next month as the decision on whether to sign the bill goes to the desk of Governor Nathan Deal.
