A rush of last-minute voter registration means that more than 6.58 million state residents will be eligible to cast ballots in next month’s election, but how those new voters will impact local and national elections is not clear, according to Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
Mail-in registration forms will continue to arrive for the next several days, and those must be processed before a final registration number is known. Still, it was obvious that a lot of new voters wanted to sign up before Tuesday’s registration deadline.
