More than three dozen national retailers have announced they will be closed on Thanksgiving, at least partially reversing a recent trend of stores trying to get a jump on Christmas shopping.
Popular retailers Costco, Cabela’s, Barnes and Nob le, HH Gregg, Ikea, Lowe’s, Nordstrom, Pier 1 and REI are among the retailers that won’t open for post-turkey shopping this year.
James Miller of the Georgia Retail Association said there is no scientific data on Thanksgiving closings, it appears many retailers are scaling back.
