Most schools around Atlanta will be on spring break next week, and some business are gearing up to take advantage of a potential surge in customers.

Most attractions will be open daily at Stone Mountain Park through April 9. This includes the park’s Lasershow Spectacular.  The long-running and usually crowded event will make its season debut April 1.  Parking is $15 per day or $40 for a yearly pass. A pass to enjoy attractions is $26 per person.

Across town, the area’s other big attraction for children, Six Flags over Georgia, also will be open daily through spring break.  The amusement park will be open daily April 1-9. Tickets at the park are $46.99 for those under 48 inches and $66.99 for those over. Discounts are available for tickets purchased online.

Those wanting to enjoy the unusually warm weather can spend part of spring break at Lake Lanier Islands.  Even with the warm weather it may be a bit too cool to jump in the lake, but the resort is offering discounts for spring break on rooms, boat rentals and meals.

Those driving for spring break will find gas a little more expensive than it was a year ago. The average price for the cheapest gasoline in Atlanta was $2.18.2 on Thursday, up from $2.06.8 a year earlier.

If your trip takes you to Florida, a popular spring break destination, gas will be even more expensive. According to AAA, the average price for gas in Florida is $2.29.1.
