On December 1st, Georgia business leaders began a first-of-its-kind, business leader-led initiative called goBeyondProfit.  The organization celebrates businesses investing within Georgia communities and promotes the belief that giving back is good for business in the state.

The civic-minded initiative recognizes businesses that make significant donations to improving the communities in which they live, work and serve. goBeyondProfit’s goal is it to inspire other businesses to follow their example.

Founded by Jackson Healthcare, the organization is managed by inaugural ambassadors that encourage business leaders and owners across the state to sign the ‘goBeyondProfit Pledge’. The pledge motivates companies across an array of industries to invest in creative ways to give back to their communities and encourage them to align their efforts with their unique business models. This initiative asks nothing from businesses except to pledge to continue making a difference. There is no cost for participation and every company is recognized, with currently 50 top Georgia companies involved. Participating companies are invited to share their stories of creative generosity and caring for their community and invited to goBeyondProfit’s awards programs.

“We believe that business is a tremendous force for good in our communities,” said Richard L. Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Jackson Healthcare. “We also believe that by celebrating all the ways companies are being generous and raising awareness about the value of giving back, others will want to join in.”

goBeyondProfit intends to be a catalyst for inspiring businesses of all sizes to invest in making an even more meaningful impact within the communities they serve.

“We want business leaders across the state to know that if they are giving back in some way, they are in good company,” said Jackson. “The goBeyondProfit initiative is an ideal way to share best practices and learn from each other. The aim is to make giving back the norm for all Georgia businesses.”
