GOP Candidate for Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan

Editor’s note: This is the first in a series of IAG exclusive interviews with Georgia’s candidates for statewide office

For most of his young life, Geoff Duncan believed baseball was his mark. Now, as the Republican nominee to become Georgia’s next Lt. Governor, Duncan realizes baseball was more of a training ground.

“I learned two things while playing baseball that shaped my life,” said Duncan, speaking from his campaign headquarters in Cumming after an early morning workout. “Don’t be afraid to chase a dream, and always work hard. Those two things helped me through my baseball career, in the business world and now on this new journey. I believe it’s the value of hard work that separates people.”

That’s not all that has lead Duncan through his stints in baseball, business and politics. The former professional pitcher, business entrepreneur and State Representative, says he has always made it about the journey. “It’s not about the trophy, it’s about the journey. It’s always about the journey.”
