Gwinnett County’s Board of Commissioners recently approved a $73 million contract with Holder Construction Group to expand and renovate the county’s Infinite Energy Center.

The project, approved by the board in late December, will renovate existing space and add approximately 50,000 square feet of exhibit space, nearly doubling its size.

Infinite Energy Center is located within the County’s multi-purpose campus, which includes Infinite Energy Arena, Infinite Energy Theatre, and a grand ballroom – Infinite Energy Forum.

Operated by the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau, the facility hosts conventions, concerts, and is home to the Atlanta Gladiators, an East Coast Hockey League team, and the Georgia Swarm, a professional box lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League.

The County’s renovation project follows North American Properties’ announcement that it will construct a mixed use-development – Revel – adjacent to Infinite Energy Center. North American Properties developed Alpharetta’s successful Avalon.

Revel will include retail, restaurants and office space, as well as “luxury residences,” a hotel and a movie theater. It will all be built on county-owned property that surrounds the Infinite Energy Arena.
