Today not only marks the start of the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta— the hottest ticket in the sports world— but also the 59th annual Red Carpet Tour hosted by Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Economic Development. This year dozens of national and international business leaders will participate in the tour—a premier event designed to showcase Georgia’s thriving business community for potential industrial locations or existing company expansion.
Since its inception, the tour has generated over $3.2 billion in revenue for the state. Hundreds of thousands of jobs have been created through the location or expansion of companies whose executives have been guests on the statewide sojourn..
The four-day, invitation-only event traditionally begins with a briefing by the governor. Guests are paired with an existing Georgia industry leader, which makes it easy for business prospects to receive first-hand accounts of what it’s like to operate a business in the Peach State.
The highlight of the Red Carpet Tour is the Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters. Guests attend golf’s most storied championship— and not only do they witness some great golf but learn more about why Georgia is consistently ranked as the No. 1 state in which to do business.
