State leaders are urging the U.S. Justice Department to revisit a November opinion that could outlaw online lottery tickets, and even eliminate multi-state games like Powerball. The opinion dictates that the federal Wire Law, a piece of anti-gambling legislation, could be interpreted to outlaw online state lotteries. An interpretation that strict could cost the state more than $220 million, severely damaging the wildly successful HOPE Scholarship. Gov.
