Portland, Oregon, is not the only major American city that has to deal with street violence by the far-left Antifa group. Atlanta has been plagued by the so-called “anti-fascist” gang for several years. In fact, two summers ago reputed members rioted and firebombed an Atlanta police car after the police shooting of a Georgia Tech student. Three suspects were arrested but Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard has failed to prosecute.

Last fall Antifa distributed flyers in Atlanta’s Peachtree Hills neighborhood recklessly alleging that an attorney who owns and lives at a home on Ridgeland Way was being used as a “white power organizing hub.” Antifa, which often displays the Communist hammer-and-sickle, posted an online article with various allegations against the lawyer and political friends who have stayed there: https://afainatl.wordpress.com/2018/08/10/the-racists-on-ridgeland-way-ground-zero-for-alt-right-organizing-in-atlanta/

In response, the local neighborhood association discussed but decided against saying anything against the homeowner, encouraged residents to remove the inflammatory flyers illegally put on power poles and contacted Atlanta police about increasing patrols in the area.

Members of law enforcement tell InsiderAdvantage that it is necessary for groups like the homeowners’ association to be vigilant when someone is targeted with threats just because of their political views.

Aside from the police car being bombed, there have been other notable Antifa criminal actions: Property destruction and assaults by masked thugs on law enforcement at Stone Mountain park, attacks on a Trump rally, an attempt to destroy a statue at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park and the 2016 beating of a gay couple in a Midtown Atlanta Starbucks. That occurred because the gays dared to express disagreement when Antifa members took over the coffee shop yelling about opening the prisons and releasing all “victims of capitalism.”

The Atlanta police union still remains upset about the Antifa-led mob that gathered at Woodruff Park and then began an unsanctioned march down Peachtree Street and into Piedmont Park while police were ordered not to disperse them. Police spokesman Carlos Campos said at the time a decision was made to give the radicals “some space.” As for the criminal trespass and attack on the monument— ironically, a “peace” olive branch was ripped away– police again watched and did nothing while a lone African-American officer was continually insulted and threatened. (After several days of silence, Police Chief Erika Shields confessed to a WSB-TV reporter that she regretted not taking action in Piedmont Park and making arrests.)

Antifa-inspired violence like that seen last weekend in Portland could flare again in Atlanta, Georgia law enforcement sources tell InsiderAdvantage. For more information on radical-left groups like Antifa go to https://farleftwatch.com/
