When the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC) board began their competitive search process for a new executive director, their efforts led them back home where they found someone with “a wealth of knowledge about charter schools and education policy in Georgia.”
In mid-July, Commissioners unanimously selected Lauren Holcomb who has worked with the agency in various roles since the SCSC’s reconstitution in 2013. In her new role, she will oversee strategic planning, policy, communications and other initiatives for the SCSC.
