Few, if any states have had such success in terms of economic development over the past decade as Georgia. The cornerstone of economic development, when it comes to bringing in new companies or growing existing ones, is building out a large skilled workforce to meet the demand for high quality employees.

The UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government has been a major player in studying how the state can best build out that workforce across a wide array of industries.  Greg Wilson, Public Service Assistant with the Institute, talked to Georgia CEO this week about some of the ways that they are pushing experiential learning starting in high school.  The organization also provides case studies on various programs across the state so that similar schools and companies can learn from and adopt some of their strategies.
