Columbus’ National Infantry Museum is one of the state’s hidden gems – but it’s starting to get some serious national recognition.   USA Today in its annual 10Best Readers’ Choice awards named the museum as the “Top Free Museum” in the country, as well as the No. 3 “Best History Museum” in the nation.  The museum, which contains more than 100,000 historical artifacts along with interactive exhibits and galleries, is heralded as one of the nation’s leading military history destinations.  It is hosting a party on Wednesday, March 4th, to celebrate its high rankings.  So if you haven’t had a chance to get to Columbus to check out the National Infantry Museum yet make sure you swing through Columbus some time to see what all the fuss is about.
