Despite both national and state level declarations of emergency over the spread of the coronavirus, revelers partook in Tybee Island’s annual Irish Heritage Parade Saturday.  City officials, following urging from Mayor Shirley Sessions, postponed the event on Saturday morning, but hundreds of participants still made it out to march anyway, floats and costumes in tow.  Flanked by police cars as the procession made its way down an active Butler Avenue, Tybee residents made it clear that a little viral epidemic can’t stop a good time.
