The water has been turned on in what will soon be Atlanta’s largest public park, Westside Park at Bellwood Quarry. Over the past year a massive drill carved out a five-mile tunnel between the quarry and the Chattahoochee River. The quarry will fill with water to be used as an emergency reservoir for the city as well as the centerpiece of the massive park, which will be an anchor for development in the westside of Atlanta. Senate Republicans nominate new president pro tem
A follow up to yesterday’s Floating Boat – Georgia Senate Republicans this week also nominated state Sen. Larry Walker III, R-Perry, as president pro tem. That nomination won’t become a full election until the General Assembly convenes in January, at which point Walker will succeed state Sen. John F.
