Elections attorney Jake Evans says voter fraud definitely exists in Georgia. “Absolutely it exists in Georgia, it’s just extremely hard to prove.” But Evans said Thursday he has proof of voter fraud taking place in Long County in Southeast Georgia. And this morning, with the certified documents needed to call for a full investigation, Evans is filing an amended petition contesting the election results and seeking a new election in the race for Magistrate Judge.
“We now have the evidence we need, we have the proof of voter fraud,” said Evans, who has been hired by petitioner Bobby Smith after Smith lost his re-election bid by nine votes in the June 9 Primary.

Evans says that since receiving and reviewing the public documents, we have discovered errors “that are of such a disturbing nature that they will reverberate far beyond this case and likely throughout Georgia and maybe beyond.” The initial petition was filed July 1 in Long County Superior Court. The amended petition is being filed today.
According to Evans, the certified documents will show at least seven people voted twice in the election — one voting in person during early voting and again on election day –and at least seven people were wrongly issued absentee ballots after they failed to even sign or mark their absentee ballot application making them ineligible to receive the absentee ballot that was illegally cast.
Evans went on to say that documents will show a number of people who lived outside Long County were issued ballots and allowed to vote in the election, and that others who had moved out of the county more than 30 days prior to the election also voted illegally in the election. Evans alleges other violations in the amended petition.
Evans said “a new election must be held to ensure that the candidates have a fair election and that the voters of Long County have an opportunity to fairly and properly elect their candidate.”
Late Thursday afternoon, Jordan Fuchs, Deputy Secretary of State, said, “It’s clear that Long County has dropped the ball and failed to maintain proper procedures. Make no mistake about it, our office will aggressively pursue the fullest extent under the law to hold each double voter accountable—if you violate Georgia election law, we will hold you accountable.”
Elections officials in Long County could not be reached for comment.
