Deadlines, vote irregularities and an Atlanta lawyer’s move to deny Georgia’s certification of the Nov. 3rd election result continue this week’s drama swirling around the Donald Trump-Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign.
First and foremost, the Secretary of State’s office established a Wednesday midnight deadline for all 159 counties to finish their audit/recount process as a Friday deadline looms for the state to certify its election results. InsiderAdvantage will continue updates on county vote tabulations and will continue to investigate allegations like yesterday’s flap over a DeKalb County vote mistake that, in the end, didn’t change Biden’s slim victory total.
A cloud hangs over Georgia, however, because in the past two days about 2,600 uncounted ballots were discovered in Floyd County. After a new tabulation, the president gained 778 votes on Biden. Then in Fayette County 2,755 uncounted votes were uncovered. After they were tallied, Trump gained 449 votes. And in Walton County, an additional 284 ballots were found.
Finally, prominent Atlanta attorney Lin Wood has filed a temporary restraining order in federal court to deny state election certification— probably the best (although long) shot to salvage a Trump win in the Peach State. The TRO against embattled Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger seeks an emergency injunction to halt the certification of election results “until plaintiff’s substantive claims can be heard to ensure that Georgia’s electoral process is restored to a system of fairness.” CLICK HERE TO READ THE TRO
