For more than 15 years an oceanfront property on Jekyll Island sat empty – but no more. A new 209-room dual-branded Courtyard/Residence Inn is going up, with all the latest bells and whistles and slated to open in the spring or summer of 2021. The board of the Jekyll Island Authority recently toured the construction of the hotel, and are excited for what it means for tourism on the island, obviously a key component of the local economy. With most rooms expected to cost $180 per night, the hotel is looking to fill a nice mid-priced vacationer niche.
