On the heels of the November 3rd General Primary and the January 5th runoffs, many state lawmakers and officials predicted that election reform would be a hot topic in this session of the Georgia General Assembly. They were right. A little more than a week into the session, 12 bills relating to election reform have already been filed — including one that would allow for same day registration and voting; one that would require photo IDs for absentee voting and another that would provide for a permanent absentee voter list.
