2020 and now 2021 were obviously very difficult for movie theaters – but up in Rabun County in Northeast Georgia one theater has been thriving.  The Tiger Drive-In saw its busiest year ever in 2020, and that’s saying something since it first opened in 1954.  Tiger Drive-In is just one of five drive-in’s left in Georgia, offering movies new and old in a decidedly retro format.  It has also showed streams of live concerts, political events, and even a dance recital from a local studio back when a full indoor performance wouldn’t have been feasible last year.  Even as things get back to normal and folks start heading back to movie theaters, the Tiger Drive-In figures to continue to be a popular – and important – part of the local North Georgia community.
