Broadband expansion across Georgia continues as the result of another new EMC partnership. The agreement between Washington EMC and Conexon Connect will provide high-speed fiber internet to more than 12,000 homes and businesses in 10 Middle Georgia counties, and includes a capital investment of more than $54.5 million with Washington EMC (WEMC) investing $52 million and Conexon Connect contributing another $2.5 million.
This partnership is a result of Senate Bill 2 which was signed into law in 2019, and authorized EMCs to provide broadband service.
