InsiderAdvantage discovered, from a Georgia Bureau of Investigation report, that a 17-year-old black youth was shot by Georgia police multiple times after pointing a gun at an officer— and the mainstream media has barely mentioned it.
Isiah Gabriel Young was found the other night in Cartersville, and there was a warrant for his arrest for stealing a motorcycle and assaulting a Bartow County deputy. Young had been in violation of his juvenile probation in the past as well, prompting a warrant in Cherokee County.
A GBI press release says, “While fleeing from deputies, Young broke into the basement of a residence on Azalea Drive and physically attacked the homeowner who was armed with a firearm. The homeowner’s infant child was present in the home.” After Young got the gun, he pointed it at deputies who had arrived at the house. The GBI then noted that a Bartow deputy, forced to act quickly in a life threatening scenario, shot Young with his service weapon and hit him multiple times.
Young suffered injuries from the deputy’s gunshots, but the GBI said they were not life-threatening. The incident, by the way, is the 28th police shooting in the state that the GBI has been tasked with investigating in 2021, twelve of which have resulted in death.
A law enforcement officer familiar with the Young case, and who spoke off-the-record, notes that mainstream media outlets that did intensive coverage of other police-involved shootings of African-Americans, such as George Floyd Ahmaud Arbery, have failed to report on this incident. Perhaps they couldn’t find an anti-police angle, he wryly remarked.
