As vaccination rates continue to climb and the number of COVID-19 cases continue to drop, Georgia’s leaders are focusing on the workforce and the needs of employers in every region and industry across the state and the country.

On a national level, Congressman Jody Hice (R-GA) wrote a letter yesterday to Office of Personnel Management Acting Director Kathleen McGettigan calling for the federal workforce to return to the workplace. And on a state level, Labor Commissioner Mark Butler announced that the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is shifting its focus to reemployment in a strategic effort to help meet the needs of employers through Employ Georgia – the state’s official labor exchange system. According to Butler, job listings are currently the highest ever recorded, reaching numbers of almost a quarter of a million jobs that could include multiple positions for each listing.
