In a bipartisan effort, members of Georgia’s Congressional delegation are working to see that a Veterans Affairs Clinic to be located in Columbus is named after former Columbus Mayor Robert Poydasheff. Congressmen Sanford Bishop (D-G-02) and Drew Ferguson (R-GA-03) proposed the bill that is supported by every member of the Georgia Congressional Delegation.

Bishop and Ferguson introduced the legislation late last month to name the new community-based outpatient clinic currently under construction on River Road after Poydasheff — who served in the United States military for 24 years and retired as an Army Colonel in 1979
