U.S. Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-GA-02) has secured $18.7 million for nine transportation and infrastructure projects in his district in Southwest and Middle Georgia. The funding will come from H.R. 2, the Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation (INVEST) in America Act, which will allot $547 billion over five years — including $343 billion for roads and bridges, $109 billion for metropolitan and rural transit, and $95 billion for passenger and freight rail.
