‘Waste solutions’ provider Brightmark announced last week that it plans to build the world’s largest advanced recycling facility in Macon-Bibb County.  The $680 million, 5.3 million square foot plant will recycle all types of plastic waste, including difficult to recycle materials such as Styrofoam and flexible packing materials. The plant is expected to divert 400,000 tons of plastic from landfills and convert them into 64 million gallons of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel and 20 million gallons of wax, and create more than 100 new jobs in the Macon area.
